  7. What skills and qualifications do you have that will make you succeed in this position?

  8. How does this job fit into your overall career plan?

  9. What do you believe is the most difficult part of being a supervisor of people?

  10. What are your career goals?

  11. What was wrong with your current or last position?

  12. Think back to a boss you really liked/hated and tell me about it.  

  13. If you took the job, what would you accomplish the first year?

  14. What is the first thing you would do if we hired you?

  15. Describe your management style.

  16. How would your boss describe you?

  17. Name one thing your best friend hates about you.

  18. What are your strong points?

  19. What are your weak points?

  20. What kind of hours are you used to or would like to work?

  21. Have you kept up in your filed with additional training?

  22. How would your colleagues describe you?

  23. How long would it take for you to make a meaningful contribution?

  24. Why are you looking for a new career?

  25. How would you describe yourself?

  26. What were the five most significant accomplishments in  your last assignment?

  27. What were the five most significant accomplishments in your career so far?

  28. Do you work well under pressure? Name an instance that explains.

  29. Why do you want to work for us?

  30. What was your favorite part of school?

  31. What was wrong with your current/last job position?

  32. Why did you choose this career?

  33. What qualities should a successful manager possess?

  34. How well do you adapt to new situations?

  35. Are you willing to relocate?

  36. What have you learned from your mistakes?

  37. Tell me about a situation when you had a deadline and tell me how you worked through the assignment to make the deadline.

  38. Tell me about a time you were very stressed, and how did you handle it?

  39. Tell me about your past job experiences.

  40. What questions didn't I ask that you expected?

  41. Do you have any questions for me?

Questions an interviewee may ask:

  1. Why is this position open?

  2. What would you like done differently by the next person who fills this position?

  3. What are the biggest obstacles of this position?

  4. What are some of the objectives you would like to see accomplished in this job?

  5. What are some of the long term objectives of this company?

  6. What type of support does this position receive in terms of people, finances, etc?

  7. What freedom would I have in determining my own work objectives, deadlines, and methods of measurement.

  8. What advancement opportunities are available for the person who is successful in this position, and within what time frame?

  9. What accounts for the success within the company?

  10. How is one evaluated in this position?

  11. Can you explain a typical day in this position?

  12. What are the training requirements for this position?

  13. In what ways has this organization been most successful in terms of products and services over the years?

  14. Can you describe the company culture?
